On September 22nd 2012, for the first time ever, the West Island will be hosting a full day yoga festival; YogaTalks. The event will be held at the beautiful St-Lawrence Yacht Club where hundreds of yogis, brand new and experienced, will be touched, moved and inspired by the talks, workshops and seminars of the day. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Yoga Mala Foundation in support of their initiative in the development of yoga programs in communities in need.
Mission & Vision
YogaTalks creates a platform for communities to connect, inspire, grow and ultimately elevate the world. Inspired by Ted Talks, YogaTalks believes passionately in the power of sharing ideas and connecting the community. Our goal is to have all of our talks on-line and freely available, offering insights and inspiration from yoga’s most brilliant and inspired thinkers. Our mission is to unite communities through love, laughter and big ideas.
We use the Ginko Biloba leaf as our emblem because, in the East, it is considered a symbol of longevity, hope, resilience and peace. The Ginkgo Biloba tree has been known to live for over 2,000 years, leaving legacies that last lifetimes. That’s the kind of inspiration we hope to spark, grow on little Biloba trees!
